Organization Roles
Each institution will be tracked in ToMaTo as an organization. Organizations are responsible for their own users and nodes. Therefore some roles have to be assigned:
Principal Investigator
This person is responsible for all users and nodes and able to sign contracts for his organization. This role is normally assigned to the head of an organization or his assistant.
Tasks & Permissions
- Sign official contracts
- Assign persons to all other roles
- Member of the users mailing list
Administrative Contact
This person has to accept all new users that sign up for this organization and also has owner access to all topologies that belong to users of this organization. He is also the primary contact for requests considering users and experiments.
This role can be shared by multiple persons.
Tasks & Permissions
- Accept/Deny user registrations for the organization
- Owner access to all topologies of the organization
- Oversee all experiments of the organization’s users
- Member of the users mailing list
Technical Contact
This person is responsible for maintaining the nodes of the organization. All problem reports for the hosts will be forwarded to him. Also he is the primary contact for any requests considering the node hardware and the software installation.
This role can be shared by multiple persons.

- Maintain the nodes of the organization
- Permission to manage nodes of the organization
- Informed about node problems
- Member of the users mailing list
